Local Area
Sgwd yr Eira waterfall, this is the most famous of the waterfalls in the Ystradfellte region as the footpath goes behind the curtain of water.
This is the only path crossing that valley, and farmers have on days gone by had to drive their sheep behind the fall when the river itself is in flood.
Dinas rock, this crag has 75 climbing routes of a variety of grades and is known as the best cliff in south Wales.
This is also the site of an old gunpowder works, with marked trails and historic information points. There are also walks along the river from here, and is a good start point for kayaking downstream to Resolven.
Pen y Fan is the highest peak in South Wales, situated in the centre of the Brecon Beacons National Park. At 886 metres (2,907 ft) above sea-level, it is also the highest peak in Britain south of Snowdonia.
The twin summits of Pen y Fan and Corn Du were formerly referred to as Cadair Arthur or 'Arthur's Seat'.
Clun Gwyn - A series of spectacular waterfalls in the central Brecon Beacons National Park, near Ystradfellte. It is on a trail from Ystradfellte or the car park near the shop on the Ystradfellte to Pontneddfechan road.
Wild swimming is particularly popular on the Ystradfellte waterfalls.
